Personalised fabric by the metre: how to order
Create your own fabric with photos, illustrations, names, logos or patterns for your sewing, decorating and craft projects. Choose your preferred fabric, personalise it with your design and tell us how many metres you need.
The fabric has a fixed width of 160 cm (1.60 m) for Streck and Oxford, and 150 cm (1.50 m) for Luzón and Satin. You choose the length in one-metre increments using the product’s quantity field: each unit represents one linear metre of fabric.
The quantity you enter therefore determines how many metres long your roll of fabric will be. For example:
- Quantity 1: you will receive a piece measuring 1.60 × 1 m if you choose Streck or Oxford, or 1.50 × 1 m if you choose Luzón or Satin.
- Quantity 2: you will receive a piece measuring 1.60 × 2 m if you choose Streck or Oxford, or 1.50 × 2 m if you choose Luzón or Satin.
- Quantity 5: you will receive a piece measuring 1.60 × 5 m if you choose Streck or Oxford, or 1.50 × 5 m if you choose Luzón or Satin.
If you order 3 units, you will receive a single continuous roll measuring 3 metres in length, rather than three separate one-metre pieces. The minimum order is one metre, and you can increase the length in one-metre increments. The width remains 150 or 160 cm, depending on your chosen fabric.

How to create a print with repeating patterns
If you would like to personalise your fabric with a repeating motif, you can use the Pattern effects in the design editor. This option lets you repeat an image, illustration or logo across the entire surface to create your own fabric print.
- Add your image or logo to your design.
- Select the image and click the Effects icon.
- Open Pattern effects to set up the repeat.
- Adjust the spacing between the motifs until you achieve your preferred layout.
Before finishing, check the size of the motifs and the spacing between them. You can create anything from a print with small, closely spaced elements to a design with larger images and more space between them.
Available fabrics: what they are like and which to choose
You do not need to know about fabrics to choose the right one. The most important thing is to think about what you want to make: a tablecloth, bag, fancy dress costume or decoration may each need different fabric properties. All four fabrics are made from 100% polyester, but that does not mean they are the same. Their weave and finish affect how they look, feel and behave. You will also see a figure in g/m²: this tells you how much one square metre of fabric weighs. It helps you compare their weight, but does not, on its own, measure their thickness, strength or quality.
Streck, 175 g/m²: versatile polyester fabric for sewing and decorating
If you are looking for a fabric for a variety of projects, Streck is a versatile option with more body than the lighter fabrics in this range. Having body means the fabric has a certain substance when you handle it: it is not as fine and lightweight as Luzón.
To give you an idea, this type of fabric is used for products such as event tablecloths, aprons, fabric bags and fancy dress accessories. These examples help you picture a practical material that you can cut, sew and turn into different personalised items.
Choose it if... you want to make table linen, decorations for a celebration, textile accessories or a variety of sewing projects. It is also the only one of the four options suitable for tumble drying.
Oxford, 185 g/m²: a fabric with body and a waterproof finish
Oxford is a substantial fabric with a visibly woven surface texture. To picture the type of material, think of the fabric used for some bags, wash bags and covers, where a little body helps give the finished item its shape.
It has the highest weight per square metre in our selection. This particular Oxford fabric is also waterproof, a useful feature for projects that may come into contact with moisture or splashes.
Choose it if... you are making bags, wash bags, covers or accessories that need a substantial fabric which prevents water from passing through the material. Bear in mind that seams and fastenings also affect the waterproofness of the finished item.
Luzón, 45 g/m²: an especially lightweight polyester fabric
The most notable feature of Luzón is its light weight. At 45 g/m², it is the lightest of the four fabrics: one square metre weighs approximately a quarter as much as one square metre of Streck or Oxford.
It is an option for projects where you want to add fabric without adding too much weight, such as hanging ornaments, decorative details, layered designs or costume accessories. To understand the difference, think of a lightweight decoration that you want to hang up or layer over other elements, compared with a bag or wash bag where you would want more body.
Choose it if... keeping the material weight low is your main priority. If you need the finished piece to hold a defined shape or have more body, consider Streck or Oxford.
Satin, 112 g/m²: smooth, glossy polyester fabric
