Why Star Wars is such a successful film saga

Star Wars is a saga of science fiction and fantasy films created by screenwriter and producer George Lucas. The saga consists of nine main films, known as the "Skywalker saga", and several spin-off films, television series and comic books.

The saga begins with the film "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope", which was released in 1977 and introduces the main characters of the saga, such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia.
