Security zone in the online editor

When personalising your product in the online editor, on some items you will see an area marked with red lines along the edges. This area appears mainly on textile products that are manufactured by cutting the material, such as blankets, towels or similar items.

What does the area with red stripes mean?

The area with red stripes indicates the cutting safety area. During manufacturing, this part of the design may be cut partially or completely. For this reason, important design elements should not be placed in this area.

Even if your image has exactly the same size as the product, the cutting process may vary by a few millimetres. If you place text, faces or important details within the red area, they may be cut off in the final product.

Examples of bad and good practices

Example A is a bad practice: the image does not cover the entire personalisation area, so white margins will appear around the photo when printed.

Example B is a bad practice: the image is well adjusted, but the text “LOKI” is inside the safety area and could be cut off.

Example C is a bad practice: the text is well placed, but an important part of the image (the dog’s head) is inside the safety area and could be cut.

Example D is a good practice: the image covers the entire personalisation area and no important elements (neither image nor text) are inside the safety area. The final result will be correct.
